What is whiplash?

Whiplash refers to a variety of injuries to the neck usually as a result of a sudden unexpected distortion, for example, a road traffic accident. Strains and sprains of soft tissues, for example muscles, discs, and ligaments are commonplace.

What are the symptoms?

Commonly you will experience pain, headaches and stiffness in the neck and upper back. There is often a delay in the onset of symptoms after an accident. Pain onswallowing, dizziness and blurred vision are also often referred to in cases of whiplash.
